•	OPSC is called Odisha Public Service Commission, which is a state-level government organization responsible for conducting various competitive examinations in the state of Odisha, India.
•	The OPSC exam is conducted for the recruitment of various positions such as Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Assistant Director, Block Development Officer, and many more. The exam is conducted in three stages:
1.	Preliminary Exam (Objective Type)
2.	Main Exam (Descriptive Type)
3.	Interview/Personality Test
o	The syllabus for the OPSC exam generally covers topics related to Indian polity, history, economy, geography, environment, science and technology, current affairs, and general knowledge. The level of questions asked in the exam is generally of graduation level.
o	To prepare for the OPSC exam, candidates should start by understanding the exam pattern and syllabus. They should then create a study plan and devote sufficient time to each subject. Candidates should also practice previous years' question papers and take mock tests to assess their preparation and identify areas of improvement.
o	Overall, the OPSC exam is a highly competitive exam, and candidates need to work hard and stay focused to crack it. They should stay updated with current affairs and read newspapers regularly to be aware of the latest happenings in the state and the country. Candidates can also take coaching from reputed coaching institutes or refer to study materials provided by them.

Selection Process/Examination Pattern: 
The Examination process for OPSC OCS 2022 consists of 3 stages:
1). Preliminary Term (Objective MCQs Type)
2). Mains Exam (Subjective Type)
3). Personality Test

-	The candidates must know that there is a negative marking of one-fourth for each wrong answer.  
-	The Preliminary Examination shall consist of two papers of objective type (Multiple choice questions) and each paper shall be of two hours duration – 	Total - 400 Marks

NOTE : Second paper is qualifying of nature with secure 33% marks only.
-	The Preliminary Examination is meant to serve as screening test only. The marks obtained in Preliminary Examination by the candidates who are declared qualified for admission to main examination will not be counted for determining their final order of merit. The number of candidates to be admitted to the Main Examination would be 12 times of the total number of vacancies advertised.
-	Only those candidates who are declared by the Commission to have qualified in Preliminary Examination against a particular advertisement will be eligible for admission to the Main Examination against the said advertisement.

OCS Main Examination Pattern : 
-	The nature and standard of questions in this paper will be such that a welleducated person will be able to answer them without any specialized study.  The questions will be such as to test a candidate’s general awareness of a variety of subjects, which will have relevance for a career in Civil Services.

•	ORIYA LANGUAGE (300 Marks)
The aim of the paper is to test the candidate’s ability to understand srious discursive prose and express his ideas clearly and correctly in Oriya language. The pattern of questions would broadly be as follows :
Comprehension of a given passage : 30 Marks
Precis writing with a passage of around 1000 words : 40 Marks
Translation from English to Oriya : 30 Marks
Grammar, usage and vocabulary : 80 Marks
Short Essay of around 1000 words : 100 Marks
Expansion of an idea : 20 Marks
Total : 300 Marks
